About Lucivana
LUCIVANA is a two hundred years' old family home situated in the village of Popovici, in the area known as KONAVLE, to the South of DUBROVNIK. Konavle is seen by many as Croatia's equivalent of PROVENCE.
LUCIVANA's current owners are descendants of the original owners who had built the house at the beginning of 19th century. While the property was being renovated in 2005, every effort was made to preserve the original spirit and feel of the house. Therefore LUCIVANA is not just another impersonal house for rent. It has that feel of a "home away from home", ideal for the discerning traveller who seeks an authentic holiday experience.
LUCIVANA is most suitable for families and groups of friends who are looking for a location offering peace and privacy. It is also a perfect place for nature lovers, be they birdwatchers or simply walkers who enjoy breathing unpoluted air, scented with the perfumes of the Mediterranean flora.
Yet, the unspoilt life in this quiet rural community is barely a half an hour's drive from Dubrovnik, Croatia's jewel attraction. It is equally close to two entirely different worlds existing outside Croatian territory, just behind the mountain ridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a short haul away, across the state border in Montenegro.
Dubrovnik Airport is only 7 kms away. It is served by direct scheduled and/or charter flights from 47 European airports:
- Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Belfast, Belgrade, Bergen, Berlin, Birmigham, Brussels, Cologne, Copenhagen, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Gdansk, Geneva, Hamburg, Hannover, Helsinki, Krakow, Leeds, London Gatwick, London Stanstead, Lyon, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oslo, Paris CDG, Paris Orly, Poznan, Prague, Rome, Stavanger, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Tel Aviv, Trondheim, Venice, Vienna, Warsaw, Zurich.
For those arriving by air, car rental can be arranged at the airport. Local bus services operate several times daily between Popovici and Cavtat and Dubrovnik.
One important detail: the village of Popovici lies outside the air traffic flypath and thanks to the natural barrier of rolling hills which surround the village, aircraft landing and take-off noise can not be heard.
